How's
this for dramatic pause? Here I'm sharing with the
missions committee at IBC.

Whew!
God is good and faithful, even when we are not! The last few
weeks and months have been something of a blur. My work responsibilities
have changed and picked up a bit, and on a personal level
much of my attention has been consumed by the war in Iraq
and its implications. Many friends have asked my opinion on
how the war will affect or has affected my plans for ministry
in Ireland. I would appreciate your prayers on these and other
things in my life. Please let me know how I can pray for you!

First,
I hope you will pray with me for wisdom for our national
leaders, our troops overseas (whether in Iraq or elsewhere),
and a quick resolution of the conflict in Iraq.

In
a related request, please pray that the tension
and animosity between other nations and America will
lessen and even heal. I know there is much debate on
America's actions in all this, but I hope that people
who minister and work in other countries will not come
to harm, physically or emotionally, simply because of
their nationality. That goes for those who live in America,
too, whether they're French, Middle Eastern or a practicing
Muslim.

My
sister, Christy, will lead a mission trip to Rwanda
in June. Please pray that funds come in for her in a
timely manner and that she is encouraged by the support
she receives. Also pray that she, those in her group,
and the sending church, Irving Bible Church, practice
wisdom in going on this trip as the war continues. Contact
Christy, christina_mcfarland@hotmail.com,
for more information on her trip.

Jared,
my younger brother, lost his job a few weeks ago.
Please pray for him as he uses this time in his life
to re-evaluate who he is and what he wants to do in
the years to come. Pray for his encouragement and God's
guidance.

Because
of the falling value of the dollar verses the euro
and the rising cost of living in major European cities,
Greater Europe Mission had to raise my levels of support.
(I now need $3,578/mo and $28,587/one-time. Check out
my
breakdown of support costs
for a full breakdown and explanation of the costs.)
I am currently holding steady at having 10% of my monthly
needs and would still like to leave for Ireland in the
fall. But I can't go until I have 100% of my support.
Please pray that God raises faithful supporters soon
and that friends, family, and people I meet catch the
vision for what God is doing in Europe.

Thank
you so much for your prayers! Please keep in touch and let
me know what's going on in your life. If you have an e-mail
address that you would rather I use to update you, please
let me know. Until next time!
